High-plex proteomic analysis for the highly sensitive
and reproducible quantification of protein biomarkers in research.
Probiomics offers a state-of-the-art end-to-end service based on Olink® Proximity Extension Assay (PEA),
dedicated exclusively to research projects.
Proteomics is a branch of molecular biology that studies the proteome as a whole, examining the proteins produced by a cell, a tissue or an organism at a given moment.
Through proteomic analysis it is possible to identify, quantify and characterize proteins, providing fundamental information on biological functions, interactions and variations in response to stimuli and pathology.
As an integral part of life sciences, proteomics helps decipher the structure, function and interactions of proteins, as well as changes in expression, offering a more complete picture of the biological complexity of living systems.
Thanks to its quantitative nature, the Olink platform is particularly suited to comparative analysis between experimental groups and longitudinal studies.

Olink® enables High-Plex analysis, based on the proprietary Proximity Extension Assay (PEA) technology, a proven platform for discovery and validation of protein biomarkers on a large scale.
When the antibody pair binds the antigen anticorpo simultaneously with the sensitivity of next-generation sequencing (qPCR/NGS), the platform enables the simultaneous analysis of millions of protein-sample combinations in extremely low volumes (Q: 4 μl), ensuring high sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility of results.
The platform is extremely flexible and allows multiplexing on small volumes (Target 48 and Target 96), applicable to various research matrices including plasma and animal models.
The PEA (Proximity Extension Assay) technology used by Olink is based on a pair of antibodies specific for the target protein, linked to complementary DNA oligonucleotides. When both antibodies bind the target simultaneously, the oligonucleotides come into proximity, generating an amplifiable and quantifiable signal. Unlike methods based on direct antibodies, the signal is generated only when both antibodies bind simultaneously in the correct orientation, virtually eliminating false positives and ensuring accuracy and reliable results even in biologically complex matrices.
The proteomic service offered by Probiomics, based on Olink® PEA technology, guarantees a complete and flexible approach, covering the entire workflow.
Our scientific team supports the client in defining the most suitable panel, helping with sample size calculation, selection of the right platform and defining inclusion criteria in the study cohort.
Access to the Olink® platform leader market for internal implementation. Each sample undergoes an initial quality control analysis, generating an incubation control result and an extension control result.
Production of the proteomic data from multiple absorbent assays, for quantification of hundreds of proteins simultaneously in low-volume samples.
The bioinformatics pipeline that processes the raw data identifies patterns, protein networks, biological and clinical pathways.
Delivery of the report includes all the charts and tables needed, accompanied by text for interpretation of results, of sufficient quality for publication.
The client can request exclusively data generation from proteomic samples through the Olink® platform.
Alternatively, the service may include bioinformatic analysis and biological interpretation of results.
Probiomics offers all Olink® Target and Olink® Reveal platforms to tailor them to research objectives.
Platform selection depends on the number of proteins to analyze, the amount of sample available and the study objectives.
| Product | Quantification | N.Proteins | N.Samples | Ideal for |

For larger studies a personalized consultation is available.
The following biological samples are suitable:
The minimum amount varies between 2 and 4 μL.
With the Olink® panels offered by Probiomics it is possible to analyze up to 1,034 proteins in a single session, obtaining data ready for biological interpretation.
Results are processed through proprietary bioinformatics pipelines, enabling identification of protein patterns, significant pathways and potential therapeutic targets.
